Terms of Service
Effective September 9, 2026. These terms are the agreement between you and Withdraw Guard ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app or website, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
- Withdraw Guard is a commitment tool. When you lock money, you are asking us to refuse your own early withdrawals — that is the product, not a defect.
- Your funds are held by a regulated US bank partner in FDIC-insured accounts. Withdraw Guard is a financial technology company, not a bank.
- The Demo Mode shown to waitlist members uses play money only. Nothing in Demo Mode moves real funds.
- You must be 18+, a US resident, and provide accurate information.
- We do not give investment, tax, or legal advice. Projections in the app are illustrations, not promises.
1. Who can use Withdraw Guard
You may open an account only if you are at least 18 years old, reside in the United States, and can legally enter a binding contract. One account per person. You are responsible for keeping your login, two-factor codes, and admin PIN confidential, and for every action taken under your account.
2. What the service is
Withdraw Guard is a lifestyle banking app built around four pillars: locks (an Untouchable Retirement vault locked until age 60, Date Time Locks, an Emergency Job-Loss vault), Bill Locks that automatically sweep Spending into a sealed lock, recurring auto-commitments and daily allowances, Money Progress stories and streaks, and a Map of nearby lifestyle places (car dealerships, spas, salons, casinos, airports and similar) sourced from OpenStreetMap. Map results are community-maintained third-party data provided for convenience and may be incomplete or out of date.
Banking services — deposit accounts, debit cards, and money movement — are provided by a regulated US bank partner ("Bank Partner"), Member FDIC. Withdraw Guard is not a bank, does not hold your deposits, and FDIC insurance covers the failure of the Bank Partner, not the failure of Withdraw Guard. Card acceptance and payment processing may be provided by additional licensed processors.
3. Locks, holds and early access
You are choosing to give up early access. Once you place money in a time lock, bill lock, or age-gated vault, we will decline requests to release it before the unlock condition is met, even if you ask us to and even in an emergency, except where required by law (for example, a court order or the death or legal incapacity of the account holder, handled through your named beneficiary or trusted contact).
- Untouchable Retirement unlocks on your 60th birthday based on the date of birth you provide, which cannot be changed after it is set.
- Time Locks and Bill Locks unlock on the date you choose. You may extend a lock to a later date at any time; you may never shorten it.
- Beneficiary / Saving vaults use a cooling-off hold followed by a limited release window; if you do not act inside the window, the funds re-seal.
- Emergency Job-Loss vault releases only after you upload proof of involuntary job loss and our automated document check accepts it. We may request additional documents.
- Auto-commitments and allowances pull from your Spending balance on the schedule you set. You may delay or adjust them in the app; some allowances cannot be deleted once created, as disclosed at creation.
Unlock dates are computed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). A locked balance is not available for card purchases, transfers, or bill payments and may cause a card decline or a missed bill if you have not planned for it.
4. Demo Mode and the waitlist
While we are onboarding from a waitlist, most accounts run in Demo Mode. Demo balances, deposits, sweeps, and spending insights are simulated and clearly labelled. No real money is deposited, moved, or insured in Demo Mode, and demo activity creates no financial obligation for you or us. We may reset demo data at any time. When your account is upgraded to live banking you will be asked to accept the Bank Partner's account agreement and complete identity verification.
5. Fees
Withdraw Guard charges a one-time lifetime activation fee, shown before you pay. There are no monthly fees, no overdraft fees, and no fee for locking or releasing your own money. The Bank Partner or card networks may charge fees for out-of-network ATM use, wire transfers, or foreign transactions, which are disclosed in their account agreement. Activation fees are non-refundable once your live account is opened, except where required by law.
6. Deposits, transfers and cards
- You authorise us to instruct the Bank Partner to move money between your Spending account and your vaults, locks, and commitments according to the rules you set in the app, including automatic Bill Lock sweeps of your Spending balance and incoming deposits.
- Deposits by debit card are subject to per-transaction and monthly limits shown in the app and may be refused if our settlement account cannot fund the credit.
- Merchant-category rules you set on a card may cause legitimate purchases to decline. You are responsible for reviewing your rules.
- Statements and tax exports are provided for convenience; the Bank Partner's records control in a dispute.
7. Your responsibilities
- Provide true, current information and keep it updated.
- Do not use the service for illegal activity, money laundering, or on behalf of someone else without authority.
- Do not attempt to bypass locks, probe or overload our systems, scrape data, or reverse-engineer the app.
- Tell us immediately at support@withdrawguard.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
8. No financial advice
Savings projections, milestone tiles, Money Progress stories, spending categories, and any admin-only entertainment features are informational illustrations generated from your own data and generic assumptions. They are not investment, tax, legal, or financial advice, are not guarantees of future results, and should not be relied on as such. Consult a licensed professional for advice about your situation.
9. Our content and your licence
Withdraw Guard, its logo, software, and design are our property or licensed to us. We grant you a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app and website for your own savings. Feedback you send us may be used without obligation to you.
10. Closing your account
You may close your account any time by emailing support@withdrawguard.com. We may suspend or close accounts for breach of these terms, suspected fraud, legal requirement, or extended inactivity, with notice where the law allows. On closure, unlocked balances are returned to your linked external account; locked balances remain locked until their unlock condition is met and are then returned. Legally required records are retained per our Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimers and limits on liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, for losses caused by a declined card, a missed bill, or a lock you chose to set, or for events outside our reasonable control including Bank Partner, processor, or network outages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the prior 12 months or US$100. Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
12. Disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and applicable US federal law. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at support@withdrawguard.com and give us 30 days to resolve it informally. Unresolved disputes will be settled by binding individual arbitration under the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. You waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing us within 30 days of first accepting these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product and the law change. For material changes we will email every active user at least 30 days before the change takes effect; continued use after that date means you accept the new terms. The effective date at the top always reflects the latest edit.
